A month+ post-op and still vomiting

Recommended Posts

No, it's not normal at all. Throwing up, while it sometimes happens for various reasons, should be avoided as much as possible.

Please call your doctor and get back in as soon as possible. If they won't give you an appointment in the next few days, make sure they understand that you are unable to keep food down. Push comes to shove, go and sit in the office until they can work you in.

Daily vomiting is really risking slipping the band or other dire consequences.

Best of luck to you.

I agree with the above poster. It is not normal at all. I hope you get in to talk with your surgeon very soon, like today.

I would also stick to liquids until you get in to see the dr. You probably have Fluid in the band that needs to be removed.

Pls call your dr if you haven't already.

My doctor has been fantastic about squeezing me in when I need an unfill He's even come into the office from the hospital on days he isn't usually there. Tell them it's an emergency. Also, I agree to stick to shakes and Water until you get seen. Hopefully those are staying down ok. Let us know what happens.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
