Kaiser, central CA, just getting started!

Hi!!!!!! My name is Emily and I am 29, mother of 2 boys and 1 welsh corgi

I live in central CA (think Modesto, Sacramento, Manteca....then go a little east to the foothills of the sierra nevada's). I have been with Kaiser for 1 year. I went to see my PCP in December to talk about lap-band, she ok'd me because of my BMI (which is approx. 44) I am going to a mandatory weight loss surgery class in 2 weeks and then my PCP will refer me to a surgeon. I have NO IDEA what to expect from there. I have read SO MANY posts on this forum and it seems everyone has a different journey when it comes to the steps that they take before surgery and I can't seem to find anyone who has gone through Kaiser in Central Cal...........so, anyone have any ideas on what I can expect?

So excited about all this. It doesn't seem real, like something this wonderful and helpful could really happen to me! I had resigned myself to being the "big girl of the family" for the rest of my life (despite the calorie counting and exercise that has been a normal part of my life for the last 15 years!)
