I was banded on 12/30/2010. I have been doing great. I was on a fish oil before surgery. I would like to continue fish oil. I am wondering can you just take the pill since it is a gel form. Anybody with anwsers is greatley appreicateled.

Try Mega Red (I think it's krill oil) - the pill is about half the size most of the fish oil capsules I've seen. It's more expensive, but the size works for me and blood work seems to show a positive result.

I am taking the fish oil caps but poking a hole in the end and squeezing it into my mouth. This is per my surgeon.

Hi, I have also been on multiple Vitamins and supplements before.

As for anything in a capsule, I take it apart and mix it with my ground pills. For anything chewable, I have found that by grinding them up and mixng them with my pills, then everything goes down better.

Now for Fish Oil... I have a great Gummy Omega 3-6-9 supplement. It is called Slice of life and it is awesome. I haven't pricked gel caps and sqeezed that into juice, but that is how my daughter gets my grandson to take his. I just have a real problem with the fishy smell and taste. I am thinking it might not be so bad if squeezed into my Protein shake if it had fruit ground in with it all.

Good morning, I have been taking the same fish oil as before my surgery. But if my restriction gets too great in the future I will probably go to a liquid Omega3 and just add the oil to my morning protien shake.< /p>

How do you find everything is going TPAD?

I used to take EIGHT fish oil daily for the anti-inflammatory properties of it. Needless to say, I can't continue taking 8 horse pills.< /p>

I ordered this liquid fish oil, has a lemony taste and goes down fine. It's working just as well and isn't too expensive either--

Everything is going great for me. I am over the soreness from surgery. My diet has progressed well. I have to go back to the doc in three weeks. The nurse said I might get my first fill then. I still drink tw Protein shakes a day. To make sure I gt in my Proteins. I see online CVS has chewable fih oil supplement. I am going to check that out soon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
