EndlsDremer 0 Posted January 4, 2011 Hi everyone, This may seem like a silly question... but I never though to ask my surgeon where my port is. I'm 3 weeks post op, and I had five incisions. The longest is slightly above and to the left of my belly button (when looking down at myself). Is that most likely my port? I don't really feel anything under there. My other 4 incisions are very very small. The reason I'm asking is because for the past few days I've had a sharp muscular pain in my stomach located near my galbladder, slightly below my ribs. Painful with certain movements and tender to touch. I'm wondering if that is where my port would be located? Does anyone have any advice? Should I call my surgeon, or is this just part of the healing process? Thank you so much!
reverie 49 Posted January 4, 2011 Your port is located near the biggest scar. It will be tender for a few more weeks. It's all part of the healing process; certain movements will hurt for a little as your port is sewn to your abdominal muscle.
Kalipso2 25 Posted January 4, 2011 my port is on the opposite side of my belly button... and its right above the scar. you'll have occasional pain there. even 3 years post-op i still get a twinge every once in awhile especially while at work because my desk seems to be the same height as my port and i lean on it all the time! belbarr1 0 Posted January 4, 2011 Once you start losing, you should be able to feel exactly where it is. Your muscles will be sore for a while but you will start feeling better in a few weeks.
