Am I too tight???

Recommended Posts

I had my 4th fill on Dec. 15th, I am up to 6.66cc's. Well since then I am able to keep down drinks but certain times of the day I can't keep down the food, now my stomach is so sore and not sure if its from all the vomiting. I am able to eat about a half a cup of food and then if I do one more bite its up in the bathroom for me. I am not sure if I am too tight or maybe not chewing good enough or small enough bites. Anyone have this problem before?

it could be that you are too filled. i do know that my body tells me that if i take one more bite i'll throw up. can you NOT take that one more bite and see what happens?

after you have an episode of throwing up, you should do liquids for a day or mushie foods to give your stomach a chance to heal from the vomiting.

It sounds like you're a little too tight. Even a .2 reduction could make a big difference. I would suggest getting a slight unfill.

I agree with the above posts, get in to see your doctor asap. My doc is great about squeezing me in when I need an unfill. Tell them it's an emergency. It's not normal for solids to consistently come back up. don't worry about being hungry after an unfill. For me that never happened, the took a litte out and I was then at a good place in terms of hunger and food staying down. Good luck!

At this point, you're probably quite swollen so even chewing well and small bites may not be enough. If you can keep fluids and mushies down and are able to resist the solids, I'd go back to fluids and mushies for a week or two to let the swelling go down.

If you can't resist the solids, then I'd go for an unfill.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
