Timoyal 0 Posted January 3, 2011 Hello All, I haven't posted much on the site but I'm on here just about everyday. I had surgery on Oct 15, 2010 and have only lost 28lbs I feel like I am not doing that great. I know I eat more the a 1/2 cup of food, but I do eat healthier did I have every done. I dont' eat any rice, Pasta etc.. and get in all my Protein. I have had 2 fills. I have 5ccs in a 11cc band. Any suggestions would be helpful. Please be honest I need the kick in the butt. Thanks All!
csolo 0 Posted January 3, 2011 I think you are doing great! That's over 9 lbs a month and not even through the third month. Don't be so hard on yourself. You will succeed! I'm 6 weeks into banding and have lost 20 lbs. Same scenario. Good luck!

Dr. Duc Vuong 44 Posted January 3, 2011 I agree. You are doing great! Plus you have more adjustments to go! For a boost of encouragement, watch this short video to see my patient who lost 112 lbs in one year with her lap-band! http://www.thehealthpark.com/testimonials.htm Best of luck, Dr. V
zandile100 0 Posted January 3, 2011 I think 28 pounds is great! Do you feel like you are eating way less and are less hungry? Do you have any restriction yet? It can take a number of fills before you feel less hungry. For me it took 4 fills which were only given to me every 6 weeks, so it took awhile. I have lost weight slower than a lot of people on here. But for me this is different than every other crash diet I have been on. This is the rest of my life and I am totally ok with taking things slowly.
Timoyal 0 Posted January 3, 2011 Thanks for the words of encourage. I do eat less than I use to but I still get very hungry inbetween meals. I feel up quickly as well but it doesn't last. I will try to stay encouraged.
Yetta2u 3 Posted January 3, 2011 are you exercising? Thanks for the words of encourage. I do eat less than I use to but I still get very hungry inbetween meals. I feel up quickly as well but it doesn't last. I will try to stay encouraged.
Timoyal 0 Posted January 3, 2011 I don't exercise as much as I should. I know that is a problem as well. I'm trying to find something that can hold my interest more than five seconds, lol
dlynn1635 1 Posted January 3, 2011 When I initially decided to get banded, I felt like this should be the magical band that would immediately melt the pounds away and in a few months I would be skinny and fine!! Then reality set in and I realized that it was going to take a little more work on my part. The thing is that I am so glad that i opted for the band because it allows me to look at food differently and to actually take the time to appreciate the good flavor of my and others cooking because I have to eat slowly. I can loose as much or as little weight as I want. I have control over when I feel that I have lost enough weight. My technician laughs at me when I go for my fills because I am always saying that I don't feel that I am losing weight fast enough. When in reality I am. I was banded on July 14 2010 and have lost 50 lbs so far and gone from a size 20 to a 14. You are doing GREAT!!! 28 lbs in 2 1/2 months is awesome!! Keep up the good work, exercise, continue to make the right food choices and you will see that weight come off and stay off!!
