Hello everyone, I have not got banded yet. I am just now trying to make a consultation appointment. I wanted to find a good support group and learn as much as i could.

I weight 285. 5 ft 9 in. BMI 54%. I have not always been large. My weight when i finished high school was 155. I have been as low as 135 and 285 is my highest. My weight gain began when i started dating my husband. I weighed 165 when we met, 9 months later on our wedding day i weighed 185. Soon after our wedding, i was diagnosed with PMDD. (post menstrual dysfunction disorder) caused by taking Depoprovera shots which sent me into early menopause. I gained 50lbs. in 1 month:cry .

i have continued to gain since with heart problems, depression and life in general (nursing school).

My weight has stabalized at 285 for the last 6 months. However my bust size continues to grow. I was a DD two years ago....i am a JJ now. I am in the process of having a reduction......My next step is to have the banding. I wanted to do my bust first ........because as you can imagine exercising is impossible when they are that large. Hoping the exercise will come easier after the reduction. I have a few questions. (imagine that!)

1. Any one know a doctor in the Dallas area that uses Presbyterian hosp, that doesn't require psych eval?

2. Is there any little tips to make it easier?

3. What is LBT?

4. What is NCV's?

thanks everyone

Question 3, the answer is Lap Band Talk, as in LapBandTalk.com.

Question 4, I think the question is what is NSV? They are Non Surgical Victories.

Question 2, make WHAT easier, hon?

Question 1, not a clue. DW used Dr. Jayaseelan, BlueCrossBlueShield insurance, Pine Creek Medical Center.

Good luck with the reduction...

Best thing I can tell you from where "we" are at this moment is to follow the doctors orders to the letter. MsJoy has used some tylenol for fever (low grade) and phenegren for nausea. So far she hasn't hit the prescription pain killer. She's basically sleeping, going to the bathroom and eating a few bites and there haven't been any major problems.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
