first of all... congratulations!!

secondly... in a day or so you are going to be so sick of those shakes.. but hang in there... by the end of my 2 weeks pre-op liquid diet I was really liking my shakes... And just remember why you're doing this... nothing tastes as good as how you'll feel soon!

good luck

one more thing...

you WILL have bad days after the surgery.... weeks and even months, even years into it... there will be days or weeks where you eat what you shouldn't or you don't work out, or you just feel down cuz you think the weight isn't coming off quick enough.... just be ready...

I kinda think it was all going to be 'roses' as long as I did what they told me to do... but you have to factor in one thing.... YOUR HEAD!!! Until your head catches up with your body, you're gonna have bad days... so just be prepared... and don't be too hard on yourself!

:)

The old saying from a dear friend of mine nothing taste as good as being thin was something that has stuck in my mind over the last year and you know what she is right. I still have about 40lbs left to get to my goal weight but this journey is not easy, its not always fun, its hard as hell some days in the beginning to stomach eating soft scrambled eggs but the end result is going to be awesome. You will and can do it as long as in your mind you always remember its not going to always be a cinch to lose weight. It will be a slow process in the beginning your weight will drop off fast hopefully but everyone is different but then it will slow down to a snails crawl. Slow but steady wins the race. Chin up and know we are all here for the same reason.

I am on day 6 of 14 of my preop diet....Its killing me...cheating...I hate it. Im ready...ive lost 42 lbs so far in the past 6 months. But I hate that I CANT eat anything. Atleast before I could still have a hershey kiss or a small cookie and make it work with my calorie intake. Now I feel sooooo guilty. Hoping I can pull it together.

I'm on day 7 of the pre op diet and I'm not gonna lie; it SUCKS in the beginning. At this point I'm not even really hungry anymore and pretty much have to force myself to eat. However, the pounds are falling off and I'm excited to see how things are once I have surgery. It feels good to be starting off the new year doing something for myself I can finally stick to. Know that you're not alone in this journey, and welcome to the club!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
