Banded Bikers?

Recommended Posts

Shoot, we were lucky to get in the gate! We decided not to fight the crowd down toward the stage. We listened for a while and then headed on back to the hotel.

The funniest part of the whole weekend were the "Crown Royal Twins". Two guys, buck nekkid, except for those little purple sacks that Crown Royal comes in?? And you can guess where they had applied the sacks...LMAO I mean, I'm pale, but those boys needed a LOT of sun...ROTFLMAO

We have gone the past 3 years and I am not really impressed at all. They need to have it when it is a little cooler and once you go to one it's usually the same thing the next year. We will go this year to Austin but not the rally. Party on 6th Street and check out all the bikes there.

Kathy, we didn't go to the 6th Street party, two years ago, but it was a good thing. There was a heck of a storm that hit and people were walking around with the Water running over the tops of their boots. Let's hear it for The Weather Channel. I checked and saw the storm coming...hehehe

wow when I found this thread I was so happy! I am 53 and just got my license last summer I was never on a bike till I was 48!!!! My hubby and I just got married at the Oklahoma HOG rally on July 4th, 2008! But we are from the PHilly area! I love riding backrest even though I have a Buell Blast and a cfmoto. I LOVE my hubby's 07 electraglide. I just sit back and enjoy and now I can only imagine how much easier it will be for him since I am losing all this weight!!!! I think because I started riding so late in my life, the fears are harder to overcome, but one thing at a time! Everyone! take care and Never ride faster than your Guardian angle can fly!!!!

Well, hi Debbie. Welcome to the boards. You can bet that it will make the riding easier on your hubby. Joy is down about a hundred and the one thing we've noticed the most is the ease with which she mounts up...on the bike, I mean. It use to be a tough stretch for her, swinging her leg over the tour pack, but now....nooooo problem. She'll mount up quicker than a squirrel up a tree. I haven't ridden through the City of Brotherly Love...much scenery to see up that way? You two get down Texas way, try to hit the Hill Country down around Austin, ok?

thanks for the invite! I took my hubby last year to Dallas to see the Cowboys ( his team) and the Eagles ( my team). When my team won I was thrilled!!!! Anyway, the suburbs of Philly has beautiful countryside and alot of history, if you like that sort of thing!

Take care

Debbie

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
