My first plateau - and it came too early!

Recommended Posts

I was banded the same day as you, lost 10 lbs pre-op, 15 post op, and nothing in the last 2 weeks also.

I am probably eating more than I should be, have not scheduled a fill yet but can't wait til I do.

I was banded on 12/9 and I'm in the same situation. I was losing good for 2 weeks, then nothing! I have been exercising and watching my calories but absolutely no change on the scale! Very frustrating! But despite what the scale says, I'm still going to eat better and continue working out! It HAS to go down eventually!! Hang in there ladies!!

People, people, people,

you my friends are in "bandster hell"......I journaled, that is why I continued to loose during this phase.....and I began an exercise regime....walking in the beginning just 30 min. a day, now at 5 months out I am walk jogging for 25-60 minutes a day and I'm damn near 50 years old. I have to say exercise is a very important key in loosing....don't subtract your calories either bank them.....What the hell does banking them mean, don't subtract them from your daily calorie total...just count on them to work.

Just stick to the plan, and if you are in "banster-hell" expect to eat every two hours...write everything down, and pickles and celery can really help for wanting to munch! I mix habanero sauce and plain mustard....kinda kicks my ass but i can munch all day with no regrets.....I urge you to journal!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
