Kim,

I just had the surgery done 2 days ago! Best decision ever, I have been working out, dieting and struggling for the past year. I decided to eat a regular size sugar free Jello today and it took me 4 hours to eat it! I was so stuffed everytime! I went from 510pre-Op to 499 in two days. 11lbs, I can't believe it and I'm so excited to see what the future has in store for me! If you have any questions know you have a friend in TX! Happy New Year!

Hi Kim,

I got banded Nov 15, 2010. I am down 26.5 lbs and SO happy that I did this. For me, I didn't want to TRY another diet one more time. I am 38 and have been on a diet for 28 years of my life! This has been a GOD send. I am sleeping better, moving better, I am happy, and everyone notices the positive changes. Life does not have to be a battle of weight issues. People who think WLS is an easy out, only think that because they are misinformed or just plain ignorant. I wish you the best of luck on this journey! Happy New Year, New YOU!!!!!! =)

It's a long road ahead before your surgery date, so just be excited for now. The freaking out part comes later. I'm 3 days post-op and looking forward to eating more on week 2. Everything went well. Don't worry.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
