I need energy!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

I was just banded on Monday, and so far, I'm doing okay. I have really bad heart burn that comes and goes, but I suppose it could be worse. My problem though, is that I think my body is hungry. I'm on a liquid diet for the first two weeks and that's going well, but I'm constantly getting hunger headaches and just feel blah. I have no energy to do anything. I think my body needs some energy to make up for the lack of food. What should I do?

Happy New Year!!!

Hi:

Are you having Protein drinks and liquid Vitamins? The Protein Drinks will help with the energy level. Best wishes to you.

You know since surgery, i have little energy too. I feel like I can't keep up. I don't think my body is gettting enough! I am having my Protein, but I guess I really should keep better track of how many grams. I can't eat alot though. I am only able to take in about 2-3 oz in solids...but about 6 oz liquids..and then for 3 days I couldn't eat I was so constipated, thought I was going to be sick.

I am having a hard time tolerating pork chops...and sometimes chicken.

But what are good Vitamins to be taking> I take Calicum w/ vit D now...

You can't excersise intensily yet, but you could start walking. Moving around, even though you don't want to, will actually increase your energy level. It can also start you on a good track when your cleared for excersise. It is such a vital component to weigh loss. Not only do you burn calories while your doing it, you build muscle wich causes your body to burn more calories all day long. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
