Omg--disappointed

Recommended Posts

I am so disappointed in myself. I was banded May 30 of 2005. I have not lost any weight in months. Not because my band is not working, it is because I am not working for my band. I dont exercise, eat right or anything else I am supposed to do. I have never even been to one of my support meetings throught the hospital I had my surgery! Well thats all going to change. As of the 1st, I am going to eat right and focus on me. Gonna start 2006 the RIGHT way. Thanks for listening to me vent.

Just keep up that good attitude and 2006 is going to be your year! You're way ahead of the game because you are seeing things for what they are. You are not blaming anyone or anything - you are taking responsibility for the whole kit-n-kboodle - insight is everything!

Best wishes and God's speed...

Patti

Robyn,

My fellow May bandster. You've lost 40 pounds and have been hanging out a that loss for a while. This is a huge accomplishment.

think of all that yu've learned

how to lose the weight with the band.

how to maintain the weight with the band

how to find the support and strength to pick yourself up and start anew

2006 is your year.

have a ball with it

love, debby

The first step is knowing and admitting where you know you have gone wrong. I commend you for your honesty. One thing that helped me to get back on track was to journal my food intake. There issomething to be said about seeing what you eat on paper..it really helped me to make better choices, I wrote down everything even those bites here and there that you do not think matter, trust me they do. Try journaling your food, also write down the degree of hunger and what your mood is when you eat for example are you hungry, sad, mad , just wanting to eat etc.. once you see a pattern you can make the needed changes. Hang in there and good luck :D and just know you are not alone, many of usstruggle..I struglle now that I no longer have my band, jopurnaling has become even more important to me now since I have no band.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
