JAMILLAH E 0 Posted December 30, 2010 Can someone post pics of their scars, mine are starting to worry me? Also, how long do I wait before I start putting something on them?
JillianRN 0 Posted December 30, 2010 I do not have any pics of my scars just after surgery but I can tell you that they were ugly...lol...Especially the one that was on the top of my stomach...It looked to me puckered and was very swollen, my other 3 were covered with steristrips. I am saying this to tell you please do not think that the way your scars look in your final outcome. As long as you do not have any discharge from them, or running a fever, or have warmth to the touch, you are good...I was really bummed when I saw mine...but now they have faded and decreased in size. As far as putting anything on them, you need to wait until all steristrips are off and esentially well healed. I used Vitamin E oil on mine with really good results....Best of luck.. mnmommy07 0 Posted December 30, 2010 I dont have any pictures of mine but I can say not to put anything on them yet. You were just banded so yours need time to heal first. Your doctor will check them out when you go back for your post-op appt. I can say now though almost 5 months later, two have lightened up, the one where the port is is just ugly looking and the one on the left hand side is really red. Just the way my body took to them I guess. The one on the left still itches from time to time too. Hang in there, they will lighten up some for you.
HeatherinCA 10 Posted December 30, 2010 Here's mine.. haha well i have 4, this is the biggest, and 3 really tiny ones. I was banded 12/13, they were covered by steri strips till they fell off on Sunday. I can barely see the other ones, nothing that bothers me at all...
