Bbabbo 0 Posted December 30, 2010 Welcome to all family members, friends, partners, loved ones, and anybody else who is part of the village that it takes to support a person who has made the choice of a lapband. I am the partner of somebody who had the surgery about a year and a half ago - which was before we got together - and i have had to learn a whole lot about what it means to live a banded lifestyle. I am totally supportive of my partner's decision to change her life with the help of the band but i also think those of us who are with people who have a lapband may have questions, experiences, even sometimes frustrations to share -- so that's what this forum is for. Again, welcome!

mgottberg 0 Posted January 30, 2011 Thank you....Will have my first drs. appt the end of this month..my primary dr is totally against it but, he has not walked in my shoes...I'm frustrated and not happy...I need help!!! Thanks again...I'm so overwhelmed with how many people out there struggle with the same "illness" I do I know how you feel. My primary Dr is against me having this done. I am in my 4 month of getting info. If all goes well i can have my surgery end of April. I think that my biggest barrier is my family. They think if I would just say no that I can lose weight. well like you said, they haven't walked in our shoes. my dr says that a "food Addication" is the hardest addiction to get through cuz we NEED food to live. I have said that for years and it is so nice to have someone else feel like I do. This site will be great for us to contiue on our journey
dfav3412 116 Posted February 12, 2011 This is a decision you make for you, who else knows better than you what being overweight has caused you mentally and physically. You are choosing to do something positive in your life, to take control instead of your weight controlling you= holding you back in many aspects of living not to mention health. I read this once and it has stuck with me...once you have lost the weight, no one will remember how you did it just that you did. And oh by the way, I am a 3 1/2 year lap band person with a weight loss of 135 lbs. It is one of the best things I have ever done for myself, it will be one of the best things you have ever done for yourself too.
wex reinhart 0 Posted April 28, 2011 Arm liposuction makes firm, trim arms create a more youthful look and can provide an incentive to exercise regularly to maintain fitness. After liposuction, patients who have been self-conscious about their heavy arms often feel more comfortable wearing a range of clothing styles, and they also find that clothes tend to fit them better.
