blissa033 0 Posted December 29, 2010 I was banded on 12/23 and I'm feeling great. My dietician just progressed my diet to pureed foods today! For New Years Eve, my friends invited me out to dinner and to watch the ball drop. It will be my first outing since being banded. On a pureed diet, options are pretty limited. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to order at the restaurant while doing the pureed diet? I was thinking maybe a side order of mashed potatoes? What about chili? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :-)
gotmyeyeontheprize 2 Posted December 29, 2010 It all depends on what you are comfortable, restriction from surgical swelling wise, eating. Mashed potatoes would be good. Also, I would say any type of Soup as long as you can chew any solid pieces into mush. You may consider some type of fish since it is flaky and can be mushed with your fork. I probably wouldn't attempt chicken unless it it very moist. Enjoy your outing and have a Happy New Year!
NYYnNYGFAN 0 Posted December 29, 2010 At my first outing...I order French onion Soup and asked the waiter to just give me the broth. I just told him that I was on a liquid diet. Sipped it very slowly. Then I ordered Jello for dessert. I was FULL! Got me through the event!
blissa033 0 Posted December 29, 2010 Thanks everyone! :-) Happy New Year to my fellow bandsters! :-)
thejaketucker 1 Posted December 29, 2010 I would order chili or egg salad and eat it slow. I am on the pureed stage too and I find the key is to pace myslef.
chica125kml 0 Posted December 29, 2010 I would do mashed potatoes, mashed cauliflowers, or Soup. I went out to lunch my first day of pureed and it went well.
