MaineJackie 3 Posted December 29, 2010 Okay, now I know people who are in relationships during the weight loss surgery journey have their issues....good and bad .....to deal with. As a single woman, who is 45 years old (when did that happen?? Last I looked I was only 22!!!) and has not been in a relationship for almost 18 years.....I am actually thinking about dating again. But my self esteem is in the toilet from all these years of being morbidly obese. What guy would want to date me? I am still very overweight and have at least 60 to 75 lbs to lose. Naked I will look like a sharpei dog with all the excess skin.:myscared: Have any of you found that someone special after this journey?????
Brooke3 0 Posted December 29, 2010 There is somebody out there for everybody, no matter what you look like!! I was obese during most of my marriage, and he didn't care. I am now a divorced single mother of two small children. I had surgery 5 weeks ago today and have lost 27lbs. My clothes are getting too big for me and I am digging out my old clothes. I know that I have just started my journey, however I feel more confident in myself now than I have in a long time. I see people notice me and my weight loss! I LOVE IT!! I know that someday I will meet my Prince Charming! But first and foremost, I want to make myself happier and healthier, not only for me, but for my kids. You too will find somebody who will love you no matter what!!!! All you need to do is believe in yourself!! Good Luck in your journey!!!
chica125kml 0 Posted December 29, 2010 I just recently started dating again and it's been hard because I had to explain why I couldn't eat certain things when I went out. Most of the time the guys didn't get why I wanted to put my body through it. The one guy I'm dating is great with it but the other is just confused by it. Just remember when in the bedroom with a guy that they aren't perfect either...lets see hairy back, chest, or ass, they most likely have some extra cushion. If you're that worried about it do it at night with the lights out I think once you become more comfortable with yourself it might get easier.
