I AM SUING FOR THE CRUEL TREATMENT OF MORBIDLY OBESSE PEOPLE BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MANITOBA.

AS IT IS A DISEASE THAT IS RECOGNIZED AS SURGICALY TREATABLE BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MANITOBA AND IS CURRENTLY OFFERED IN PROVINCE AT THE MAPLES SURGICAL CENTER BUT NOT PAID FOR BY THE GOVEMENT OF MANITOBA BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN NO SPECIAL AGREEMENT MADE BETWEEN MAPLES SURGICAL CENTER AND THE GOVERNMENT OF MANITOBA AS IS DONE FOR OTHER MEDICAL PROCCEDURES TO REDUCE WAIT LISTS.

OBESITY SURGERY IS PAID FOR BY THE PROVINCE OF MANITOBA, IF YOU ARE SENT OUT OF PROVINCE FOR THE TREATMENT WHICH INCLUDEDS FORCED DIETING

IN THE CASE OF EDMONTONS WEIGHT WISE CLINIC YOU ARE SENT TO THE CLINIC FOR APPROXIMATLY 5 TIMES BEFORE YOU ARE CONSIDERED TO BE A SURGICAL CONSULT WHICH IS PAID FOR BY THE PROVINCE OF MANITOBA UNDER A DIFFERENT BUDGET.

THIS INCLUDES EXTREAMLY LONG WAITLISTS TO EVEN GET INTO THE PORGRAM 9 MONTHS TO GET INTO THE PROGRAM AND OVER A YEAR AND 4 TO 5 VISITS TO EDMONTON ( APPROXIMATLY 18 MONTHS) BEFORE YOU ARE CONSIDERED A SURGICAL CANDIDT , WHILE THE PAITIENT SUFFERS FROM MEDICAL ISSUES IN MY CASE IT IS sleep APENA WITH sleep DEPRIVATION AND OTHER PSYCOLOGICAL ISSUES,

AS A RESULT OF THE LACK OF TREATMENT PROVIDED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MANITOBA SINCE 2008 WHICH IS WHEN THE LAP BANDING PROGRAM WAS IMPLEMENTED AT THE MAPLES SURGICAL CENTER.

OTHER MEDICAL PROCCEDURES ARE DONE AT THE MAPLES SURGICAL CENTER UNDER SPECIAL AGREEMENT SUCH AS BREAST REDUCTIONS

SO WHY NOT THE GASTRIC LAPBAND.

THE MANITOBA GOVERNMENT IS NEGLIGENT IN NOT REDUCING WAITLIST TIMES BY MAKING A SPECIAL AGREEMENT WITH MAPLES SURGICAL CENTER THUS PROLONING PSYCHOLOGICAL SUFFERING AND DISCRIMINATING AGAINST MOBIDLY OBESE PEOPLE.

BECAUSE OF THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF MANITOBA

I HAVE HAD TO PAY OUT 18,000 APROXIMATLY TO HAVE LAP BAND SURGERY AT THE MAPLES SURGICAL CENTER. TO REDUCE THE WAITLIST TO A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO REDUCE THE SUFFERING FROM THE DISEASE OF MORBID OBESITYAND IS'S CO-MORBIDITYS.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
