Hello ladies,

Hope this question is not too intrusive, but I gotta at least ask. Maybe someone will be brave and answer B)

Got a question about "the girls." Just wondering if they will shrink. I have tried many, many diets over the years, of course never losing enough significant weight for the girls to shrink.

I am only looking to drop maybe one cup size. Just wondering what has been some of your experiences ?

Thanks, T

If your experience is anything like mine they get less full because there won't be as much fatty tissue. At my age with more than a hundred pound loss that means that they're not as full on the top half of the breast. This will happen alot of places in your body as you lose the fat content in your tissue.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

I have read on this forum that a number of people have gone down in cup size.

Here's my experience ... I have gone from a size 26 to a size 14/16. The "girls", while noticeably smaller, are still DDD cup! I am 5'8" with long legs. The FIRST place I lose weight is in my legs and hips. I bought a pair of "jeggings" a few weeks ago that are now just "skinny jeans" because they no longer hug my legs! The upper part of my body is a different story. When I started this journey I was wearing a 46DDD bra. A friend gave me a bunch of bras (prior to surgery) that are size 44DD. I have one of them on today. They are a little big around ... but THE GIRLS ARE STILL FALLING OUT OF THE CUPS!!! LOL! I have been "adjusting" them all day long! I bought a bra on Sunday, size 44DDD. It doesn't fit right (it's the "Butterfly" bra), but the girls don't fall out! I am in a full out battle with the fat on my torso, currently I am winning. YAY! But, the girls, they are holding on for dear life.

All the best to you on your journey!

~Fran

I am only a month post-op and have lost 38 lbs. I have had to tighten my bra (around) as tight as it will go where it was as loose as it would go. I haven't noticed much difference in the cup area yet. My feelings are that my girls are going to go south!! I see a breast reduction in my future because I don't want to have the pick the girls up off the floor!! :P

I am not sure what mine are going to do, I really hope they shrink. I already need a lift, have for as long as I can remember and I am only 28. It has been my plan to get them done when I lose the weight. (hopefully I will be able to afford it when the time comes). Or start planning on complaining of back pain to try and get insurance to cover some of it

Well the back size will get smaller on your bra. Not sure about the actual boobs. Mine are small but they get kinda swallowed up because I'm so big (i'm bottom heavy so no big boobs here). I hope they are more pronounced and look more proportional when I lose weight haha. laugh.gif

They're smaller (and more comfortable), but so is my waist. I think, ultimately, I will have the same proportions. Just thinner. My husband (jokingly) warned me before surgery: Don't lose that ass! But he is pleased with the results so far.

For me, the boobs are the first thing to go. I had big saggy boobs, and now with 108 pounds lost, I have smaller saggy boobs. I went from a 42DD to a 36 C+. The + (plus) is because I'm smaller than a D, but buldge out of the Cs.

The nice thing is that the ribcage area and waist get smaller, so the smaller boobs are ok.

With a little over 40 lbs down....my girls are definitely deflated. Not that they would have been described as perky in the last 15 years or so.......

I would love to get a boob job when I am done but I figure a good bra at victoria secret will accomplish the same thing.....I will spend my money on getting a panniculectomy first!

I have needed a panniculectomy since my 13 year old was born! So, I would really like to get one after all of my weight is gone. I'm just scared of the pain involved!

I'm sure ya'll want to hear this :), but I started at DD cup size. I went shopping for new bras Monday, and they measured me a D. I tried the bra on, and it was too small so I had to stick with a DD, which is fine with me ;). I have lost 76 pounds and haven't went down a cup size just the band size.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
