i am such a flurry of emotions right now i cant even describe it...i believe i have just shut down! lol

they wanted to schedule me for next week, but i have a very high BMI and i need my two week liquid diet! i wanna come out of there safely.

i am, with the help of the search function on the forums, compiling my list of stuff to get. im gonna take two weeks off work and if i dont have to leave the house at all, that would be awesome!

Quick question for the post bandsters...

did any of you have a low-to-the-ground platform bed? and if so, did that present any problems?

i took the platform base out of mine so my matress is essentially on the floor inside a frame at the moment....i dont generally have any problems getting into and out of bed, but i am considering sleeping on my super comfy sofa for a few days after surgery. do you guys think that might be necessary? just something i was thinking about....thanks!

Lower to the ground is definitely easier than higher. The less you have to stretch the better. sleep where you are comfortable. It is hard to predict what will be comfortable after surgery. I was fine in my bed and sleep on my tummy again on day 3 post op. Easy peasy!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
