whats your favorite mushie food?

Recommended Posts

I am on the mushie stage of my diet. I am only eating about 2 meals plus protien shakes so I try to only eat stuff I like. I thought I would like mashed potatoes but I found the flake kind makes me feel queezy. I was wondering what other people actually like on the mushie stage.

My top 3 are

1. Ricotta w/ spagetti sauce and mozz

2. Egg salad (Just mushie hard boiled egg, s+p and mayo)

3. Refried Beans w. sour cream and mexican red sauce (no chunks)

oatmeal with a little brown sugar or brown sugar flavored, haha I think I could eat this for every meal, chili has been good, and is filling and every place and brand has a different flavor, also egg salad and tuna, also I've been doing sugar free frozen yogurt, very satisfying to have a normal dessert with everyone else.

Also I've been eating chicken lettuce wraps w/o the lettuce (at like PF Changs or Elephant Bar), the pieces are minced so finely it goes down no problem for me (well I was on vacation the whole week my options were limited, and plain Soup isn't very filling).

I get annoyed with things like mashed potatoes or Beans, it doesn't feel adequate for me. Like it's not a "meal"

Yesterday, I took a 4 lb chuck roast, cubed it, and threw it in my crockpot all day w/ carrots, onions and celery. After about 8 hrs on low, it was very mushy. But just in case, I put about a cups worth into the food processor. It didn't look pretty, but it was damn good, and filling.

Very easy and a ton of servings.

I enjoy canned chicken breast (blended in food processor) with the fat free chicken gravy warmed up. I do like the instant mashed potatoes so the chicken and gravy mixture over some potatoes tasted SO good to me at this stage.

Cook egg whites in a frying pan and at the very end add in say 1/8 cup fat free chive cottage cheese. Soooooo yummy after 2 weeks of liquids.< /p>

When I was in the mushie stage my faves were the ricotta cheese/ragu sauce/mozz cheese too  as well as I scrambled up an egg and put it in the food processor with a turkey sausage pattie. A lil bit of milk and whirred it for about 30 sec and voila breakfast!

I love mixing vanilla or Honey Chobani with a packet of oatmeal. I also like chopped chicken mixed with shredded cheddar, a little mayo and a bit of hot sauce

I just put whatever I'm making for my family in the food processor and eat with them. It made me feel a little more "normal". Most foods don't look super appetizing after they come out of the food processor, but they taste delish!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
