mattie7632 24 Posted December 27, 2010 I'm fighting a cold this weekend (which I NEVER am) and am concerned I will get to the hospital in the morning and they will tell me to go home! Should I reveal that I'm not feeling well, or not say anything if I don't have a fever? Anyone have experience with this?

You need to be healthy after surgery.
Stephy5 33 Posted December 27, 2010 Sorry you don't feel well, but tomorrow is the beginning of the new stage of your life!!!! I had a friend who had a WLS last week and she had a cold. Obviously all docs are different, but they proceeded with her cause it wasn't in her chest. Be honest and good luck!
mattie7632 24 Posted December 27, 2010 Thanks guys! This is ridiculous I know! The anesthesiologist thought I had a cold when I didn't so I'm afraid they won't allow the cold I sure hope so I"m so sick of this clear liquid diet!!
mnmommy07 0 Posted December 27, 2010 Make sure you tell them, you'd rather tell the truth than to get really sick or something. But I think you're okay as long as you haven't been running a fever or currently have one. Best of luck with your surgery!!
Galaxy_Gal 4 Posted December 27, 2010 I would tell the doc. You don't want to have a horrible cough right after surgery...that is NO fun! I hope that you feel better!
mattie7632 24 Posted December 28, 2010 Had the surgery! Back home. Sore but lost 9 pounds during the 7 day pre-op diet! I would tell the doc. You don't want to have a horrible cough right after surgery...that is NO fun! I hope that you feel better!
