whats your favorite Christmas(or holiday) song?

Recommended Posts

Just curious what Christmas songs everyone likes, if your not Christian then whatever holiday you Celebrate. For me its very hard for there are so many.

1- I think my favorite is "Mary did you know" by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd. (Gotta be honest, cant listen without tearing up). Try watching the video on you-tube where they show Jesus throughout his life, from a baby pounding spikes into the floor with his shadow being of the cross to the end where he's on the cross. It really brings out the "true meaning of Christmas" to me.

2- Christmas Canon by TSO (the version with the choir), not live version.

3- (this could be #1 on any given night depending on mood, "Oh Holy Night" , Celtic Women(love them) and also by Josh Groban.

4- Anything older by Bing, Como, Ives, etc.

Hope everyones holiday was as special and great as mine. Also hope everyone has a happy and "SAFE" New Years.

I love Celtic Woman, too. They have voices like Angels.

I am not a big music fan, so I don't have particular artists but the songs I like are:

Silver Bells

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Do you hear what I hear

Winter Wonderland

Chestnust Roasting...

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Don't like: Silent Night, Twelve Days of Christmas, Grandma got run over by a reindeer, Little Drummer Boy, Chipmunk song

So-So: Jingle Bells, Felis Navidad (sp?)

And speaking of looking like Christmas - did we not have the picture perfect, Norman Rockwell, Robert Frost Christmas weather/day? Okay, now I'm ready for the snow to be gone.

This has been around for awhile , but worth listening to again. Martina put in with an old Elvis video. I love how they make it look like he is flirting with her.

Merry Christmas to all.

This is Modern-Technology at its finest.

My favorite is “Mary Did You Know”, makes me cry everytime. Also “Happy Birthday Jesus” sung by a child, so sweet.

I saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus

All I want for Christmas

I wish it could be Christmas Every day.............

In fact any of the more modern, upbeat ones are just fine.

Oh and of course there is a great ozzie song by Rolf Harris called

12 White Boomers.

I've never been to big a fan of Christmas songs, but Christmas eve I heard a song that started out as an upbeat version of the 12 days of Christmas, but then very oddly incorporated about a dozen other Christmas carols into it, it was really neat the way it did it, I don't know the name and hadn't heard it since but it's my new fav.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
