whyaskwhy 0 Posted December 25, 2010 I just had lap band surgery Dec. 8th, I just want to know what I am suppose to be feeling like, I am now eating soft foods, but looking @ some of the discussions on here I am still suppose to be on Clear Liquids, what is up with everyone being told to eat different diets? CheckYes 46 Posted December 25, 2010 Different surgeons have different rules. The important thing is to follow YOUR surgeon's rules. I was banded on December 9 and eat 3 meals of 1/4 cup each day plus two Protein Shakes. I'm slowly increasing to 1/2 cup per meal by January 4.
Purpleshell 4 Posted December 25, 2010 I was banded on Dec 6th and will be back to normal food on Monday. I've started to eat "normal food" again, e.g. Today I ate Turkey and very well cooked vegetables and chewed it up really well. (The vegetables were pretty much mushy ). I even allowed myself a little Christmas cake and a glass of wine! I am still shocked in how little I can actually eat. I usually eat all day on Christmas day and feel stuffed and sick. Today I ate just the right amount and felt great! Who knows why all these Dr's have us on different diets. I guess their experiences are different and hopefully they are only looking out for our best interests. I've lost about 26 pounds since surgery and feel really good. So will continue doing what my Dr tells me and of course common sense.
gotmyeyeontheprize 2 Posted December 26, 2010 I was banded on November 22nd. Like you, I noticed that each person's surgeon has different guidelines to follow. My surgeon's facility is one of the strictest in the nation, only allowing 600 calories per day post-op. My advice is to follow your surgeon's guidelines for you.
