Anyone from New Brunswick?

Recommended Posts

Hi there, just wondering if there is anyone from New Brunswick on here. I was just banded on December 1, 2010 and am feeling pretty good. Still on the pureed foods and really looking forward to solids in the next week or so! I have 22 pounds off since I started my two week pre-op diet of Boost! Really looking forward to when I can start at the gym again! Hope to see some fellow New Brunswickers on here!!

Hi: If you scroll through this site, you will find NB bandsters. Even old one you can post in and someone will respond. Where did you have the band done. My clinic SB has a website that is excellent. We have chatrooms as well, and I also think SWLC also has one. Don't worry about Christmas you can eat, just not very much. Merry Christmas

Thanks I will have to do that... I had my band done by Dr. Marc Savoie in Bathurst. I'm really happy so far with the results! Thanks for the info! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well!

Hi, I'm from Moncton, just went to the pre-op information session today in Bathurst. Looking forward to finding out when my surgery will take place. It should be in March or April. Glad to hear you are doing good. Where do you live? Look forward to hearing from you.

I am still waiting to get an app. with Dr. Marc Savoie. How long did it take for you to get your app. with him? Going on two years waiting now and still no app. This waiting is killing me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
