Your doc possibly determines if you need a fill. It's based on the amount of food you eat in a sitting. Normally 3 small meals a day. If you are losing about 1-2 lbs a week and if you are hungry between meals. I believe that is what they go off of. Of course you can always ultimately you can make the decision I guess. Good luck on your journey Southern Leo.

that is fantastic!!!! I just celebrated my 2 year bandiversary last week, 12/20/08. I have lost 90 pds with NO FILLS also! I cannot explain why some people need so many fills/unfills and I never wanted one. The Dr. made it my choice to fill or not to fill! Every time I went in and lost weight I decided to not upset the apple cart by getting filled and unfilled. I have been maintaining for the last year still with no fills. Good luck to all of you with no fills and believe me, my thinking is that we are less likely to have a slip with no fills and pushing the band. Just my thoughts! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and I too cheated and will have to make up for it with more exercise inthe coming weeks.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
