Dr. Burch is a wonderful doctor. I have never encountered a medical professional with a better bedside manner. He listens, he cares....he is absolutely charming in every way. I watched him carefully in a waiting room (I arrived 2 hours early for surgery) where he talked to spouses and families about their loved ones in surgery. Never once did I hear him speak in a condescending way, he never rushed or discredited any concern. He treated each person as if they were valued by him, my husband was very pleased also. Dr Burch sat and talked to my husband and made sure that he was comforted and answered all his questions. I had a lap band placed by Dr. Burch, even though I can't see the inside work he did, I can speak for the outside. My incisions are healing beautifully and even 13 days post surgery...I can see that my scars are going be minimal and nearly invisible. I feel good and prepared for my new journey. I trust him and admire him, I am soooo grateful he was the one that took care of me. I must add that his "fellow" Dr Rana was also very kind and helpful. Cedars has exceeded my expectations in care and pain management. Overall if I were to rate them in the hospitality (hotel) industry I would give them 7 stars. Everyone from the telephone switch board to the surgeons "Perfect, friendly service"...without question!

Dr. Burch is classy and kind, I would recommend him to anyone. I truly believe there is no one better than Dr. Burch.

Very good to hear! Dr Burch is doing my Lap Band on May 23rd, and so far I find him to be intellegent comforting and responsive. I am looking forward to him doing the surgery and being my doctor. He and my Mom even bonded over being from Boston.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
