wow.. good luck. and keep updated.

I didn't forget about the thread, just a few changes here. I have had a last minute change of heart, and I decided to do the gastric bypass. I have 200 pounds to lose, and while talking with my doctor, I think this is the best thing for me.

Thanks so much to all of you for posting on this thread, and best of luck to you all!!

Hope your surgery went well. I had mine done on Monday 1/3. I agree with the mixed emotions. I had a mini meltdown 2 days preop.. I will tell you what got me through was the support of my boyfriend and family. You may want to reconsider telling family and friends.. They have helped me emotionally more than you can ever image. Good luck to you. Keep in touch. Traci

Tomorrow is the day!!! Agree with everyone here that there is a crazy mixture of emotions. I'm even worried about taking too much time off from work for follow-up visits with the Dr. I'm us soooooooooo busy at work, I don't want to piss off my boss. On Friday morning I woke up from a bad night's sleep and I had a "melt-down". NO ONE knows except my husband... and feeling somewhat guilty for my secret. Also, I sorta still feeling like this is cheating... and that I should have been able to do this myself without the surgery. I'm just praying that ALL goes well with NO complications (which could sabotage my secret).

Prayers and well wishes for EVERYONE this week!!

LBT Addict -

Do I understand that you are already eating solid foods? WOW! I am on a full liquid diet for 2-4 weeks and thought that was pretty standard. I can't believe that you are already eating chicken! Don't get me wrong...I would kill for a piece of chicken right now, lol!

I was surprised by my post op diet as well. He said 2 days of liquid, 2 days of mushy, and then begin working in solids. He said to make sure that I try new things slowly so that if I have a problem I can tell what food is causing it. I had read liquid/mushy for 2 weeks. I feel fine doing it the way he had me do it. I was on a preop for 2 weeks and was really tired of just liquids. I go for my post-op checkup Thursday. I'm assuming I'll get a fill in about 2 weeks. Things are going well. I feel much better this week. Been working out quite a bit and despite how little I actually eat, I have plenty of energy now (as opposed the the tired feeling I had before surgery). I hope you get to eat soon!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
