drae0879 0 Posted December 20, 2010 OMG I feel the same way!! AHAHA :Dancing_hmm: ok I feel better now! I feel like I have pressure under my diaphram when I have had enough to eat. I usually go by how much I have consumed and how long its been since I started eating. I'm just guessing but thats when I put the Soup down. If I still have hunger pains I wait 3 hours after I finish to have something else to eat just in case. Its torture! I am SO glad you posted this because I was going to ask (still am) tomorrow on my first postop Drs appt.

Jenlo 3 Posted December 20, 2010 i feel full, but hungry at the same time???? i am scared to eat!! is this normal??? full above band, hungry under band??? or at least that is what it feels like!!! LOL! I am at 4 weeks. During the first week I did feel some hunger pains but usually they went away when I sipped on chicken broth or Protein shakes. I am not sure what you doctor has advised but mine advised to stick to just Jello, popcicles, Protein Shakes, and broth. I wouldn't deviate from the liquid diet unless your doctor advises. If you are not satisifed on these items maybe the doctor can move you up to Soups. But I would check with your doctor before advancing your diet. Hang in there, the second week for me was better I could eat pudding and yogurt and I felt satisifed after that.

fatfreeat47 0 Posted December 20, 2010 well, i can eat pudding, babyfood, ect, most patients have gone ahead and started eating regular food. there are three doctors and some say as soon as you feel like it, start trying, some say dont for 4 weeks. but my issue is not that. its just that i feel like i have two stomaches, one is hungry, one is not!!! so i guess time will tell!!! thanks for your reply!! Yes I know what you mean. I am at 4 weeks and I am hungry right now and I just ate 2 oz of egg salad and I am not starting to feel pressure and hiccup so I stopped eating, but I am still hungry. So you are right it is like you have 2 stomachs. I would say wait 30 mins to an hour and if hunger still there try again. Right now eating seems to feel like a full time job..lol..but hopefully that will get better with time
twintwo821 0 Posted December 20, 2010 I'm three days post op and I'm so glad that someone else has the same question! I sip on Water and broth, but doesn't keep me from being hungry. I have an appointment with my Doctor on Wednesday so maybe I can move to fuller things. It is a weird feeling being hungry and not hungry at the same time!
