I have no idea... i still have a lil foam...but not like before.. i have to stay on liquids til i GO BACK on Wednesday...the nurse said that its probably really swollen & tender since they repaired that Hital Hernia or what ever its called. they said the Fluid probably made it extra tight...i dont know...i know they took out 1.5cc.. hell I want it allll out.. but they are not going back in me until i am completely healed... that crap was painful.. I dont know...the doc was in surgery all day... i feel like a cry baby or a winer ..with me calling everyday etc.. and i feel like I also made the wrong decision.. Maybe it is because I have gone thru so much with this...but at this point I do feel that way....sad.gif

Give it time. You've practically been starved since banding. Give yourself a few days with things being the way they are supposed to be. Let your tummy settle down. I'm so annoyed that they put Fluid in during surgery and that the nurse doesn't seem to care. They should take it all out. I hope things improve drastically in the next few days

Stay positive and strong! You can do this.

OMG! I know you are miserable. They left air in my band and it hurt like a son of a gun to try and eat. They should not have put any saline in at all. And for the nurse to take out 1.5cc id ridculous because they have to pull out all the saline to put even a little bit back in or to add. It is really upseting that she could not tell you how much was put in your band from surgery. No matter what it should be in your chart and as the patient you have a right to know what is going on with your own body!!!! Hopefully you will get a chance to really sit down with your surgeon and get some answers. You should be really starting to feel better. I wish you luck and hope you start to feel better soon! please keep us informed when you go see your doctor on Wednesday.

Just know it does get better and God Bless!

Dee

he stated that it was massive swelling as a result of the Hital hernia repair...so now they have to try and un block it... ... i just want to be able to drink some water......and have it stay down... and the blockage is way above the band.. its in my chest.......

Ok.. I just wanted to update everyone...

well last time I was here I had to have an endoscopy... well since then Ive had to have another one and was readmitted to the hospital

I was first admitted on 12/23 and released on 12/24 then I was readmitted on 12/26.. the stricture they opened up with the endoscopy had completely closed back up!!

So after the 2nd endoscopy they waited a day before doing the barium test... which came right back up so they decided to do surgery again....

They repaired a Hitial Hernia and put a mesh over it to reinforce it..The mesh was some type of cow part..

They think that my body was rejecting the mesh which was causing all the swelling.....

They went back into the same incisions they used for the lap back and removed all the mesh and loosed the stitches back up..

This happened on 12/29.. They left in a drainage tube and bag which I am so Not happy about...dry.gif

I was released on 12/31

They stated that in about we have to give it some time for my body to heal itself... which could be about 3 weeks....They stated that if this doesn't solve the problem then They will remove the band...which is probably what I should have asked for...

I am asking for everyones prayers because I truly don't know how much more of this i can take.. my spirit is getting so weak and weary....

I am so sorry you've been through so much!! I really hope this did the trick and you don't have to have the band removed.

Try and be strong. It'll get better!! Hugs to you!!! :huggie:

I feel so bad for what you are going through. I am going through something similar all because of a Hiatal Hernia and my band slipping (repaired but not OK yet). The surgeries wear you down and out and the anesthesia totally messes with your body. EVERYTHING messes with your emotions. I hope you don't mind, but I will say a little prayer for you to start feeling better and that everything heals properly.

I am sending good thoughts your way,

Mimi

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
