Victoriana 10 Posted December 29, 2005 I was wondering, I read where some people have their ports in different places. Did anyone tell their DR. where they wanted it or is this totally up to the surgeon? Where is your port placed and does it interfere with certain movements? Mine is 3 fingers below my right ribcage. sometimes when I bend over like tieing my shoes it hurts because I bunch it up under my ribs. Is this common? gtera 0 Posted December 29, 2005 Every doctor is different. The doctors who place them near the ribs or right under the breast do it because there is less trouble accessing the port due to excess fat. Mine is placed right on my bra line of my left breast and it hurt like the dickens when I first got it. But I'm sure once you start losing more weight, your problems will subside as I know mine has tremendously! Hugs Tera
banded 11/4/04 0 Posted December 30, 2005 My port is about 5 inches left of my belly button, I feel a little pinching now and then.
lovecats85 2 Posted December 30, 2005 Mine is about 3 inches over and 3 inches up from my belly button. If I eat too much it hurts - I think b/c my tummy is sticking out and the port has to stretch a little.
phazer08 15 Posted December 30, 2005 Wow...weird that they're all over the place. Mine is much closer to the surface than I expected. I don't know where I thought it'd be; obviously it needs to be accessible. I was overall surprised at where my scars were - I was expecting lower on my torso, nearer belly button. The good news is they seem to be healing quickly and nicely. I like to think my innards are healing similarly.
lianna 3 Posted December 30, 2005 My incision scar is about 3 inches up and 3 inches over to the left of my belly button. My port is just below the incision when I am laying down. I think it is funny that when I am standing I can feel it higher up but when I lay back for a fill the injection site is much lower.
Kryssa 1 Posted December 30, 2005 Mine is 2 inches above my belly button and slightly to the (my) right. I can barely feel it even when I'm looking for it, of course the scar helps...
nettieb 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Mine is between the breasts at the bra line. If I don't sit up straight I can feel it. No problems, very easy to find for fill.
ava 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Mine is just above my belly button and a little to my left. I'm only 10 days post-surgery so I feel it a lot. My port scar is still very tender too.
