Is this normal?

I had my band removed after ten years last month. For some reason I still have a lot of restriction. The reflux is still there but not as bad but I am constantly nauseous.

I thought everything would be back to normal but this does not seem to be the case.

Has anyone experienced this and had the symptoms go away in time?

Thanks for your help.

Kim

I'm in a similar situation. After having the band for 2.5 years with the final 1.5 years as no-fill, I had it removed in November. Daily vomiting, chest pain when trying to swallow, limited food choices, needed a spit cup when I ate which meant I ate alone. No quality of life and all this persists post removal. While I wait for BCBS of Texas to authorize a sleeve gastrectomy, I'm trying not to gain my 40 lost pounds. I also must have an upper GI (ugh) and possibly an esophageal motility study prior to any additional bariatric surgery. As an end note, the discomfort I always felt at the port site persists 8 weeks after it was removed. Anyone experience this? Best wishes to all, Happy New Year!
