Yogurt issues and kidney stones...

Recommended Posts

Ok. I have two separate isues....

The first being my issues with yogurt....all yogurt. I cannot get it down! It just did there making me sooooo uncomfortable. Anyone else have issues with yogurt? I have the perfect restriction....and love my band...i just wish I could have yogury for Breakfast or a snack if needed....

Secondly I have been getting kidney stones like crazy! Had my third one in two months this weekend.....saw a uroligist and he said that people who lose weight can get them more often....also high Protein diets can contribute to them too....the thing that stumped the dr wad that I drink a ton of Water (more than 70 oz a day) and hVe no pop at all! Anyone else struggle with this?

Love my band! Down 70 lbs since may :)

Yogurt... OMG I hated that stuff. My dietician suggested Yoplait delights. They come in a 4 pack. The lemon parfait is delish, I also like the carmel parfait. If I can eat this yogurt anyone can!!! You should try it if you haven't. From there I tried many different yogurts, most of them i can't even gag down however Yoplait Light Thick and Creamy is really good too, I LOVE the key lime and the strawberry. Both these yogurts are more like pudding texture than that "milk gone bad" thing! If you haven't tried them, you really should because I didn't think I would ever be able to eat yogurt, now I eat it every morning and it is my go to snack if I really need something! Good Luck to you!

I have some restriction but not perfect. Pretty much every day I have the following for breakfast: Chobani Greek Yoghurt (fat free with fruit), half scooop of vanilla whey isolate Protein Powder, 2 ts benefiber, splendra (fat free greek yoghurt is pretty sour), 10 g Kashi Go Crisp Protein. Mix everything but Cereal, then add cereal at the end.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
