Hi everyone,

I had lapband on June 22, 2010 and lost so far 55 lbs. my goal weight is 138 or 140lbs, at post op, I had regular periods from june on skipped Aug got it for Sept,Oct than it skipped Nov and now, I am still waiting for it for December 26th. My husband and I braced ourselves for two test's, but recently they were both NEG-relief..I love my family and my three great & smart kids, but we cannot afford anymore since we have trimmed our expences plus I have have suffered a career setback with working for CT in 06.

Presently, I am worried since I don't feel well in the afternoons I get headaches at work ... and I easily lashed out at my principal & didn't care to hold back, I told her to go ahead & fire me for somethng beyond my control... I felt she deserved to be yelled at since she's control freak, my point is I am emotional wreak and didn't give sh&%$#@ if I got fired over dumb 19 hour job with no beneifits anyway. Could it be stress with the Holidays?

Now, I will need to tell my family practioner, & my wonderful Dr. Roberts out of Yale sleep medicine. Anyway I felt better when I had my regular period's now I am so symptomatic and just wondering whats wrong with me! I am also afraid to take the next steps....

I need some advice and encouragement!

Marlo CT.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
