Did they weigh you on surgery day?

Recommended Posts

My hospital does not weigh the day of the surgery. The last time I was weighed was at the presurgery testing (bloodwork). I did have a unexpected weigh in at my Nut appointment the otherday. Mid afternoon right after lunch. Grrrr.

I was weighed in my clothes, then watched a video, then gowned up and went to surgery.

I got weighed right before surgery. I had my appt with the surgeon 10 days prior to surgery and was told if my weight was up on surgery day from the day I met with him, they would not do surgery. I guess thats one way to make sure you loose some weight between then and the date of surgery.

My surgery is tomorrow!!! Really nervous about getting weighed in. I lost 11 lbs on my pre-op diet and got weighed on 12/20. What if the scale at the hospital is different and shows that I have gained weight? I feel sick about it.

I was not officially weighed, I saw a scale by a counter on my way back from a trip to the restroon and weighed myself. My preop nurse saw me do it, but she didn't even ask what it was.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
