work_in_progress 0 Posted December 13, 2010 I had surgery on May 14, 2009 at 262 pounds. Today I weigh 194 pounds and I'm 29 pounds from my goal! This was absolutely the best decision I ever made in my entire life. I feel like a whole new person! Not only am I feeling younger, my knees don't hurt and I'm playing tennis at least twice a week. I am loving my new life! I will graduate from RN school in 18 months. One of the reasons I had the surgery was because I didn't think I could stand on my feet for 12 hours on a hospital floor - I'm doing it now! Sometimes I do get frustrated when I can't eat something that I love, but it's so worth it, let me tell ya!

howdybooth 4 Posted December 16, 2010 It’s been a year since I got my band and I’ve lost 85 pounds. I’ve had a total of 4 fills and I’m at about 6.5 cc with a 10 cc band. My last fill was mid-August and since then I really have had a great relationship with my band! I can pretty much eat anything, only in small amounts, and continue to lose. I was hoping that I was done with fills! Then this past 3 weeks I’ve found that I can eat WAY more then I should! I’ve only got 25 pounds to go to meet my goal and I’m thinking that maybe it’s time for a little fill. Have you experienced the need for a fill now that you are so close to your goal weight? Is a fill the way to go or should I leave my band alone and start “dieting”? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been very careful about calories, but it’s just never felt like a diet and I’m wondering if that is the route I should take now. I’d love to hear about what you did………
