I am feeling very upset and discouraged.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I am just wanting to vent about my situation. I was banded on November 4th and have lost 52lbs including the 2 weeks for pre-op diet. Two weeks ago I went to the doctor due to pain and swelling in the port area. They said it was called a Hematoma which is a collection of blood due to hemmorage. They said all would be fine but man it just doesn't seem to be getting any better but not worse. I have to wear a abdomine belt just about 24/7. It really is affecting my days. Thank god I have not been busy at work but am getting ready to be very busy soon. For those of you who have had this issue how long was it till the pain went away?

January 1st my employer is changing insurance and my doc doesn't accept the insurance. They are the only office in New Mexico. I have not a had a fill due to the success that I have had with the weight loss. I am just scared that something will go wrong and then what am I suppose to do especially if the issue mentioned above doesn't go away.

Like I said I am just venting. I keep thinking are things going to be like this forever. Sometimes I think I should have been happy with how I was before and just dealt with it. I sure hope things get better soon it's starting to take a toll on me.

First, Congratulations on the weight loss. I would make a follow up appointment with your MD before your insurance expires just in case he needs to do something about the Hematoma. Sometimes they will absorb and sometimes they need to be drained. Also, with the insurance, first they might could negotiate a fee with your new insurance, especially since you got this under and older policy and you need to continue to receive care. You might also discuss it with your HR to see if they can/will pull some strings.

If that does not work, maybe your doctor will allow you to come in and pay the same fee as self pay patients. Some doctors this is a lower rate and may not be that much. You will be better soon. You have done great so far. Also some insurance companies offer case Management, you might check into the new insurance and when that kicks in call and ask for a CM to assist you with navigating some of these issues.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
