imagine923 4 Posted December 11, 2010 Hi everyone! Happy Holidays!! I am looking to start a topic with bandsters in the Grand Rapids area. My surgery is scheduled for Dec 30 with Dr Beane. I am starting my liquid diet this Thursday. I had to go through the 6 month diet with Dr Beane and I have lost 19 pounds since May 2010. I'm very excited to get to this point and can't wait to begin 2011 with a new me!! Check in and introduce yourself and say hello! FaithfulOne 21 Posted July 23, 2013 How was your experience with Dr.Beane? I know this is an old post so not sure if you are still active but I would love to chat. I am pre-band and am looking for banders in the area.
Jbowen1117 3 Posted July 28, 2013 Dr Beane is awesome you will only see him a couple of times before surgery and once after surgery. Teri his nurse will take over and do all the fills. I was banded in December and I have lost almost 50 lbs. my BMI was on the lower end so it is harder for me to lose weight. The most important thing is to go monthly even if you don't need a fill. I love his staff and couldn't have picked a better doctor!
nickybad 16 Posted August 27, 2014 I am scheduled for surgery with Dr Beane the end of October. Any advice, any thoughts to pass on?

nickybad 16 Posted September 27, 2014 How did you handle the opti fast
tklarkina 9 Posted September 27, 2014 The first three-four days are the hardest as your body adjusts. After the 4th day, you start to feel more energetic and motivated to continue. Your body feels healthier. It is definitely worth the effort!
tklarkina 9 Posted September 27, 2014 I think if you can handle the 14 day Optifast and the 14 day liquid diet after surgery, you can handle anything.
