SouthernBand 0 Posted December 11, 2010 Hi all, Thanks first for all the good info I'm reading here!!. Some I can relate to, some not yet, but we are all on the same path! Intro: married, no children, super supportive husband who is MORE excited about my weightloss than I am, if possible, lots of pets. I was banded on 11/30/2010, went thru the usual "what have I done business" and the worse can't breathe feeling. The incisions are closing well, and at yesterdays check up things were going good, per the Doctor. Best news is that I've lost 49 pounds (since the beginning, when because of my hugely excessive weight I was on the pre-op diet for 2 months). So far, so good. I am now adding in a little protien in the form of cheese or eggwhite in the early morning and hope this will hold me thru the day (because I AM hungry). No huge bursts of energy, but I am still carrying around a LOT of weight. Planning to follow the Dr. and Nutiritionist orders to the letter, and keep on losing the weight Best of luck to all, especially to those who are yet to be banded. susidivah 0 Posted December 11, 2010 Welcome, Southern! I was banded the day before you... have my first follow up on Tuesday with the surgeon. I am amazed at how well my incisions look to be doing as well. I am now on puree/mushie stage and it's not too bad. Anyway glad you are here and I think you will find his site to be very helpful... feel free to holler if you ever need anything! God bless, Susan

God bless, Susan I was banded on 11/29 and i am also on the Puree/mushy diet. It is amazing the things i find to puree. It is often hard to get the measurements right. I start with 4 oz and then I use broth to get in the the right consistency and I end up over the 4 oz. Somewhere I read that ice cube trays are 4 oz sections. so now after I puree something I make enough to fill some sections in an ice tray. Thay way at my next meal I just pop out 4 sections and put them in the microwave. I have had to buy a electric cup warmer to put my dish on to keep the food hot because we have to take small bites and wait in between. It is a lot different then shoving a cheeseburger in my mouth and driving. "Times they are a changing!"
