2ND FILL ~ Possible over fill?????

Recommended Posts

I got my second fill yesterday. I assumed it would be a lot like my first ~ nothing ~ but I was wrong. I am sticking with the Soups and soft food but I have to take it REAL SLOW!!! I get a pain in my chest area and feel like I need to strech out and let it go down. I am not sure if this is normal ~ just me having to learn how, what, why and when of the eating pattern or did I possibly get too much this fill. On my first fill, I got 1cc and I think it was 1.5 cc yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else has felt like this. I have not had any episodes of vomitting thus far in my journey and would think that if I had to much in my band, this would be an immediate action. I do not even feel like I need to vomit, just a pain that resembles indigestion. Any feed back would be welcomed!!

It's kinda hard to tell this soon after a fill, especially you are are just having pain and not "throwing up" After my 2nd fill I had that same pain but I gave it a little bit and realized I was eating way to fast. Even though it seemed slow compared to my old eating habits it still wasn't slow enough for me. Even after I moved on to solid foods I was having a hard time and thats when I started PBing and sliming. I was still eating to fast and not chewing well at all. It took me a bit to get the hang of it.

Are you really paying attention to how fast you are eating and drinking? Are you laying your fork/spoon down after each bite? Try that. If no luck don't hesitate to call your Dr and see what they think.

A fill can take up to 1 week to feel the full affect so If you can stay with liquids for 1-2 days then mushies 1-2 days and then try solids....if after that you still have a hard time eating and drinking and it includes throwing up, sliming or PB'ing then I would consider and unfil...Good Luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
