rameycat 0 Posted December 11, 2010 Has anyone tried raw oysters since being banded? My in-laws are in town and we are going to my favorite raw bar tomorrow night. I am 9 weeks out from surgery and have had one fill. Pre-band I would chew them slightly, but mostly just "shoot" them. I am concerned they may get stuck and the thought of PB'ing a raw oyster is just too much to wrap my mind around. I have thus far never been stuck. However, they are SO tasty and one of my most favorite things ever. For those of you that have tried this, please let me know your experience. Thanks in advance! bayareanan 24 Posted December 11, 2010 I was able to eat oysters after my 1st fill. I had 3 cc's in my band. I did try to chew the up a little. I hope I can continue eating them because I just love oysters.
LapNYC 3 Posted December 11, 2010 I'm not sure I'd take the gamble in public. Can you buy a couple and try at home first? I've been banded a while now and have always been able to eat almost anything. I wouldn't try an oyster though. Just too damn chewy (sadly).
