BandedJenny 0 Posted December 10, 2010 Oh no, this really sucks! I know MRSA seems to be all over the place now. I have 4 friends that have had MRSA in the past three months. I'm glad they did find that you have it so that you can treat it. Once everything gets resolved, I hops your surgery goes well. What about MLK weekend in January? ajames79 0 Posted December 11, 2010 I am sorry! That sucks!
melzie_99 22 Posted December 11, 2010 From my understanding most people are actually carriers of MRSA; it just becomes a problem when it enters an open wound or a mucus membrane. That does suck, but you DEFINATELY don't want to have surgery and end up infected from that.
HeatherinCA 10 Posted December 11, 2010 Aww sucks!! I'm sorry. Mine got pushed off twice already, and now I have a COLD hoping it goes well and I don't have to push off again
mnies 0 Posted December 12, 2010 That does suck. I hope you get a new date soon. I definately understand when you have been doing the liquid diet. It sometimes feels like you are on an emotional rollercoaster. Hopefully you will get to be off the rollercoaster soon.
Dave_NW 92 Posted December 12, 2010 MRSA can be fatal. If not to you, then to the staff at the hospital. Regardless of how frustrated you may be, keep in mind delaying your surgery could very easily save your life. Hang in there. Dave
new@52 1 Posted December 13, 2010 Oh boy.... I go tomorrow for my pre-op testing... I wasn't nervous, till I read this! I had a stomach flu durring the two week liquid diet and when I got finished with that, I caught a cold... do you know if that will automatically be a NO during the pre-op testing? HeatherinCA 10 Posted December 13, 2010 I have a cold now, and have since thursday. I'm supposed to get mine tomorrow. My doctor didn't seem to care.. Idk! The anesthesiologist seemed a little worried though. I'm worried can you go under with a cold?

jenn90808 0 Posted December 14, 2010 Think of the complications you will be avoiding instead. MRSA is a nasty little bug that would've been quite happy to nestle up in you incisions and cause you terrible pain, it could've infected your band as well and then were would you be?
