howdybooth 4 Posted December 10, 2010 I’ve recently started taking Zoloft and have really had a hard time with the pill. Zoloft is known to cause problems with the stomach (pain like taking too much aspirin) and boy has it caused me pain; a couple of times it was so bad I vomited! I’ve tried taking it on an empty stomach with lots of water; on a full stomach; while I’m eating dinner – nothing really makes the pain go away, until the pill is completely dissolved! I’ve started trying to take it after dinner and before bedtime with a cup of something hot and that seems to help a little. Has anyone else experienced similar problems and found a solution? If so, I’d love to hear what you’ve done. Surgery 11/09 down 85 pounds
Cindylouwho4220 0 Posted December 10, 2010 Hi, I have had the same problems. I was banded June of 09 but didn't have a problem with my Zoloft until 6 months ago. I have found the worst thing you can do it drink a lot of Water with the pill. Never ever cut it in half. I talked to both of my drs about it. My Gastro said some medicine will do this. My regular dr graciously changed my prescription so that I have take 3 of the smallest dosage instead of 1 1/2 of the larger dose. This has really really helped. Feels like a fire has broken out in your chest, doesn't it? Seach this site and you will find others have experience the same difficulties! Arghhh!
