Hey there, I am so relieved to have found this site.... to be able to chat with other Banders I think will help my mental state during this process so much. I am currently scheduled for surgery Jan. 28th.... wanted to be completely done with the holidays before I had to start the liquid diet. Have some of the same concerns others on here have about possible failure but after reading some forums I feel a lot better.... I know I can do this and if I think negatively I am only going to sabotage myself. I am looking forward to making friends on here and being able to support others as well as myself.....Blair

Welcome, Blair, and others new to the site;

I have been here since Nov. 3,2009. I had my surgery on Oct.30,2009, but did not reach out for support until after the surgery. I needed someone, just as you do, to talk to about emotions, diets, and victories,too! So, I hope that you will find that here with this group, they are great support! Karen (kll724).

Glad you found LBT! I've found that it's such a great tool for keeping me accountable (along with blogging and logging all my food). So stick around - this site can be a great tool to aid you in your journey with your band and to better health. Congrats on your upcoming surgery! It'll be here before you know it.

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

      I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
