Rchavez101 0 Posted December 10, 2010 For those of you who have had the band for awhile have you ever got hit on the port with baseball for example. I am only 5 weeks out from surgery and seem to think that you would feel the port forever especiallly when you lose more weight. I am concerned that later on you would get hit while doing physical activity and it will hurt really bad.
zeniada 9 Posted December 10, 2010 I have never thought of that but I sometimes feel my port when I bend over to tie my shoes and it hurts so I can imagine that it would be very painful to get hit in the port...
lellow 1,713 Posted December 10, 2010 Never been hit with a baseball but my son's kicked it pretty good a couple of times. Now it's healed, it hurts no more than, say, stubbing your toe. Not even that much. My port isn't a low profile port. It's just under the skin and now I've lost the weight, it sticks out a lot. Even then, I reckon if it got hit, it wouldn't hurt an undue amount. kll724 3,055 Posted December 10, 2010 I, also, have never been hit. But, I have placed a heavy box, where I normally would have carried it before lap-band, and had to quickly move it off the port and carry it properly using my arms, instead. So, I guess, the answer would be to be careful, but not overly indulgent of the port site, in the future. Karen (kll724)
LapNYC 3 Posted December 10, 2010 I've been hit in the port with my son's head (head butting is 'funny', it seems, among the four year old set) and it indeed hurt a ton.
