Hello everyone. My surgery is Friday morning.. I have been on a liquid fast. Is it ok to eat chicken noodle Soup? I have been eating one container per day (including today)

Additionally I had a bag of Popchips today.. otherwise.. just Protein Shakes and Water.

Am I doomed??? Has anyone done this?

Hi!!

I get banded on Friday Morning Also!. I have been on the liquid diet but my surgeon said so solids and no soups... just the Protein shakes and very little chicken broth........ I hope everything will be ok.. they said the purpose of it was to shrink your liver....but i know many others who are able to eat foods on their pre op diet...so i think you would be ok,.....

Thank you soooo much! I find that the Protein Shakes leave my stomach growling. I wish u the best with the surgery! I have been heavy my entire life. I can't wait till I can have my first real meal again. I know it will be smaller but still filled with flavor! Sigh!

Hey y'all! my name is Holly, and my surgery is also this Friday! its at 1030am in Atlanta, Ga by Dr.Macik! SO very excited but nervous as well, itll be my first time being put to sleep, EVER so that scares me most! zpearle you will be fine, ChefGabbie is right, many surgeons only require a two week no carb diet like mine, with only liquids the day prior. Ive even heard of some banders preop diet consisting of ONLY 2 days of liquid prior to surgery. I pray that we all three have amazingly succesful surgeries.Lets all stay in touch after surgery to keep up with each other's progress, complications, etc!

ONE MORE DAY LADIES------->;=]

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
