Just wanted to ckeck in and see how my fellow december bandsters are doing. I am 5 days post op now, off all meds, still a bit of nausea, getting in approx 50 oz of liquid a day but having trouble getting enough Protein & don't have much energy. Going back to work tomorrow so wish me luck!

It's SO good to hear I'm not alone. I was banded on the 6th Dec and also had my gallbladder removed at the same time. I stayed a night in hospital and then came home.

I am very sore all over my stomach and have the left shoulder pain. I am also very tired. I also lost a lot of feeling in my left thumb and index finger but thankfully that is slowly coming back to normal.

I've only been given paracetamol for pain killers and told to take them once a day. I'm taking more than that so I can manage feeling a bit normal.

It hurts to breath in deeply and I've been told to do breathing exercises and to make sure I walk around. I find that I walk for a few minutes then need to rest.

Its a lot harder than I thought it would be. I've had two C-sections and this is almost as difficult. I can't wait to sleep on my side again and not on my back :)

This will all be worth it though in the end hey?!

I was banded this past Monday and went back to work on Thursday.

The first day I was really sleepy and only got up every few hours (as per my doctor) to walk around and have a sip of Water.

Day two I had to deal with the phantom shoulder pain which my doctor refused to give me meds for (I get it now, it's nerve pressure so muscle relaxants and pain killers weren't going to help).

Day three I walked five miles on my treadmill, drank plenty of Protein shakes and was sure that returning to work was going to be no problem. I was kinda wrong there.

I am an artist and I sit all day and paint. The sitting is really bothering the port and causing pain in my upper back and shoulders. I have been sitting on the floor on my knees just to keep my body stretched out so I don't feel the pain at the port. It's totally bulging and the worst thing I have to deal with thus far.

I was banded on December 5th and do not intend to go back to work for at least another 5 days. Some of you people seem to have done so well in such a short space of time. It's encouraging for me however, to hear that some people have felt the same way as me. Although things are slowly improving, I still have left shoulder pain, pain in the middle of my chest when I swallow and general abdominal tenderness. It's getting better by the day though. The wind (sorry, English - gas) pain is the worst. Hope to feel much better in a week's time though. I'll let you all know. And good luck to everybody! x

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
