I had surgery on 12/12/05. My weight was 320 lbs. I got down to 268 lbs. Worked out everyday cardio and weight trained. My eating habits was good. Then late 2006 I changed my hours from work from 2PM x 10 pm

to 8AM x 5PM.. My eating habits went out the window and there were no workouts. I slowly gained my weight back and plus some. I have not been back to get a fill for about a year... Well 6 months ago my shift changed back to 2pm x 10 pm so I hope to start right after the holidays.

I have a stationary bike now at home and just purchased select tech dumbbell set and weight bench from bowflex...

I have done well with Low Carb .... I plan to go to the doctors office in Jan for an appt and fill.... Time to start over....

Joe:

Best wishes with starting over! Getting back to your doctor for a fill is one of the best things you can do. Not trying to scare you, but are you sure that you haven't slipped? Last spring I could eat more and started gaining so I saw my doctor for a fill when actually I ended up being unfilled because my band had slipped. I ended up getting a new band in July 2010. Three years ago I weighed 324 and within 18 months I got down to 174. When my band slipped I got up to 208 in July 2010. As of this morning I'm at 192 and slowly headed back down to 180'ish. Starting over does work!

Sounds like you're preparing mentally for your new start in January.

Good luck!

Sue

Joe,

I'm right here with you, was banded Jan 6, 2008 lost a full 100lbs then life turned it's self upside down and I lost all my mind I put back on almost 60lbs so I understand how you feel. I didn't have insurance so i couldn't get a fill during that time either. I have insurance now and a fill on monday. i'm back to basics right now, liquids now on to soft foods. I went from being home all the time being able to plan for me and work out now i work 8-5 not much time for my son who's used to having me home all day.

I know we can get back on track!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
