PaulaFrancisco 0 Posted December 3, 2010 I just attended my first open seminar, but I had already decided this was the option for me. I have been overweight since about age 20 (I am turning 57 this month). I hit 200 lbs the first time when I was pregnant with my 1st child at age 22. Typical story: diet, lose a bit, gain back a lot, over and over. I had finally decided a few years ago that it was probably heathier for me to just stop trying and I have been able to maintain a steady weight (although admittedly, a very high weight) and stopped yo-yoing. I am deathly afraid to diet and fail, because I know I'll end up even bigger. This is why I feel this proceed is right for me. I am in a better place mentally than I was in my 20's when I first considered gastric surgery. I am excited and determined to continue with this process. Apples2 19 Posted December 3, 2010 Welcome Paula and congrats on your decision to make life a healthier one for yourself. I made the decision at the age of 52 to have lapband. I was a walking ticking bomb. But, I can tell you that today at the age of 55, I have so much energy and feel as if I am a impostor...(55 yr old living in a 19 yrs old body)....I feel that good. Wishing you luck as you go through this process. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to send me a personal message or email. Take care.
