darn period.... wide open band!

Recommended Posts

Apparently I am one of the ones thats band opens wide up during my period. I was so hoping to be one of the ones thats band closed shut,,, but it opened on up for me to pig out on Xmas dinner. Of course, it was ALOT less pigging out than previous pre-band Xmas dinners so for that I am thankful. I hope you all had a happy happy holiday!

I am exactly the same, sometimes I dont even feel as if I have a band when it is that time of the month. I am just glad it is only 1 week.

I'm one of the "closed up tight on the period" chicks, and I sure wasn't happy about it yesterday. Why do we always want the opposite of what we have, lol?

I think their next version of the port should be connected to a little Reebok pump... On days when you want more restriction, puff puff puff! But on rare days (like for Christmas dinner) you can press the button and let the air out for no restrictoin.

I'm going to patent that and become a gajillionaire. :)

Are we all on the same cycle?? I've heard you can sync up with women that you hang with, but I didn't know it went through the cyber waves too!

I'm super tight right now. Sheesh.

Hi Lovecats,

I noticed you've been getting filled by Dr. Maese. I have an appointment with him on the 6th. How is he, when it comes to fills? Does he give you the option of getting a tight fill? Or am I gonna have to keep going back for every .5 CCs? I was going to get it done by Dr. Barker, but he wanted to charge me a hundred dollars more than Dr. Maese. What do you think of Dr. Maese as a doctor? How is his "bed side manner"?

WAIT JUST A MINUTE! How did I miss this connection!?!?!? Tighter when you have your period ????? I will have to pay attention now since I've had my period like 5X in the 9 or 10 weeks I've been banded -- no wonder I'm losing weight LOL -- I thought I was a super bandster -- turns out I'm just a homone queen! What is the reasoning behind this -- Water weight causing tightness around the band or something? I'm baffled!

It's all about Water, Bandayed. If it's really humid some of us get tighter also. I don't know why some of us are tight and some of us are wide open, it's strange that way.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
